5 Comic Book Truths (that I don't think are true)
There are lots of tips, chestnuts, and other pieces of advice that I've heard over the years--tidbits of wisdom passed on from one generation to the next, from professional to professor to prospective student.  Some of them are drawing tips, some of them are tricks to dealing with publishers, and some are general guidelines on how to survive in comics. Most of them are useful and true and will stand the test of time, but a few of them  have become hackneyed platitudes and have gone unquestioned for too long. Here are 5 that I'm questioning...
1. READERS WILL ONLY LOOK AT A PANEL FOR 5 SECONDS, SO DON'T SWEAT IT TOO MUCH.
I understand the intention of this bit of wisdom, and I mostly agree with it: drawing great interiors is important, but at the same time, you don't want to get bogged down with small details that most readers won't even notice.
But here's my concern with this: if you treat every panel like it's disposable, then you're less likely to make an impact with reader

SUPERGIRL Pencils / Inks / Colors
The image shows the steps of my digital approach on how I create my comic art.

Supergirl
I love the dynamics in sketches, so I tried to figure out how to get the layout dynamics from a sketch to final comic art. I tested inking directly over my blueline layouts and think this can work on sequentials. What do you think?

BTW: This was done in Clip Studio Paint EX using a Wacom Cintiq and colors then were added in Adobe Photoshop.

I love Supergirl btw. I am a huge fan of Superman but when being asked what I would prefer to draw it probably is Supergirl ;)

Sequential digital test page
Sequential testpage from my new MAYA script. MAYA is my creator owned book I'm working on when I have some time left.
Digital roughs with direct inks. I do the blueline roughs very loose because I do my own inking here. I am still testing the process pipeline. I will probably do more finished pencils later down the road. BTW: If you are a colorist feel free to use the page (download) to color. I am looking for a colorist with a cool style like Matt Hollingsworth is using on Sean Murphy pages to later color the book.

Interests
The last few years were pretty crazy. From the comic artist and freelancer to the co-founder of a games company, the last few years have spun around me quite nicely. Since 2013, I have been running my own small game company, "McPeppergames", where we first focused on the creation of learning games for children.
Our long-term goal, however, has always been to create games for players of all ages. The first steps in this direction have now been made. Our first puzzler COLOR FENCE has recently been released in the Apple App Store and was launched by Apple on the front page of the app store under "New games we love!" in many countries worldwide.
COLOR FENCE is now also available for Android on the Google Play Store and also via Amazon.

With McPeppergames, however, we are still pursuing much more ambitious projects, such as our upcoming action game "COLOR DEFENSE", a tower defense game for both casual players and hardcore gamers.
In addition, we are planning the 2018 step "Beyond Mobile!" and would like to tackle a slightly larger game project that is on the one hand related to comics and characters and on the other hand simply a very great game, where we all look forward to it. This will come next mobile devices also for PC, Mac and probably some consoles.

Regarding the comics and illustrations, this project will take me quite a bit, but as I miss the telling of stories in comics form, I finally started working on a Creator-Owned project. Whenever I find time for it I will also push this project forward and hope that I will find a publisher for it in a few months.

It is exciting and I hope you look around here and there, since there will surely be some new things to see soon!

If you want to support me and my work, download as many apps from McPeppergames as possible, play them and give a rating in the store if you like the games.
This helps us very much to tackle the new projects and also in the development of comics.

Thank you for your support and your interest!

I'm finally back from my "Road-Trip" into the fantastic mad world of Browsergames and Mobile Games which opened my eyes... after working for the last 4 years in two different companies on a lot of games and only one small released one with a lot of work for the trash can I finally woke up, felt a little bit like Neo, quit my day-job and started my own company... so...
